Year 4

Autumn 25-26

This term, Year 4 have been learning about the human digestive system and its important functions. They explored how food travels through the body and how each part of the digestive system plays a role in breaking it down. The children also investigated the function of our teeth, learning how different types of teeth help to chew and tear food, making it easier for the body to digest.

Spring 25-26

This term, Y4 have been learning about different states of matter: solids, liquids and gases. They have conducted experiments to investigate the viscosity of different liquids and used thermometers to measure a liquid's temperature in degrees celsius. They have also learned about the process of changing states by heating and cooling: evaporation and condensation (as part of the water cycle).
