Year 6

Autumn 25-26

This term, Year 6 have been learning about the classification of plants and other living things. They explored the differences between flowering and non-flowering plants and developed their understanding of how scientists group living organisms based on shared characteristics. Using classification keys, the children practiced identifying and sorting a variety of plants and animals, deepening their knowledge of the natural world.

Sparks have been flying in Year 6! Our young Scientists explored how circuits work - experimenting with wires, bulbs and batteries. They used Scientific symbols to record their findings like real engineers. Brilliant work, Y6!

Spring 25-26

This term, Y6 have been learning about animals (including humans) with a particularly focus on the functions of the human body. The children learned about that the heart is part of the circulatory system that keeps blood moving around our bodies. Y6 investigated pulse by measuring the number of beats per minute and recorded their results efficiently. Children understand that our diet, exercise, drug intake and lifestyle can impact our bodies functionality, including in negative ways. Take a look at their work below!
