First Holy Communion

During Year 3, our children have the special opportunity to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. These are important milestones in the faith journey of a Catholic child.

Parents and carers play a vital role in preparing their child for these Sacraments. Our school and parish work closely together to support families throughout this journey. In school, children learn about Jesus, the Church, forgiveness and the Eucharist as part of their Religious Education.

Children are prepared for the Sacraments by Miss Wellens and Mrs Cowlishaw, with the support of our wider school and parish community. Father Doyle, our Parish Priest, celebrates the Sacraments with the children

First Holy Communion

The Eucharist is at the heart of Catholic life. During their First Holy Communion, children receive the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist for the first time. Preparation helps children to understand the importance of the Eucharist, participate reverently in Mass and recognise that they are part of our parish family. We look forward to celebrating these very special occasions with our children, their families and our parish community.
